Flowers Are Lacking. ‘The President’s church, the pictur- esque meeting house of the Society of Friends, was the scene of a wedding yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock of par- ticular interest not only because it was the first to take place in the edifice, but also because Mrs. Hoover witnessed the exchanging of marriage vows between the two young people, Miss Beatrice Cox and Mr. Lawrente L. Morlan. There was another angle which added unusual interest in the event, for in arranging the details for her wedding the bride dispensed with unnecessary accessories, including flowers for herself and her attendants. The money which woyld have been used for this time-honored bridal finery will go to the unemploy- ment fund. Mrs. Hoover has for many years given the welfare and career of young women: her keen attention, and the First Lady has manifested admiration in the chosen work of the bride, who is a nurse, having graduated from George ‘Washington University.
