HE Secretary of State and Mrs. Cordell Hull will entertain at dinner this evening in compli- ment to the United States Ambassador to the Argentine and Mrs. Alexander Weddell, who are in this country on leave. ‘The Postmaster General, Mr. James A. Farley, will go to New York tomor- row to join Mrs. Farley, who returned to their New York home yesterday after spending several days in Wash- ington. The Postmaster General will remain with his family for Christmas. The Secretary of Commerce, Mr. Daniel C. Roper, returned this morn- ing from New York, where he deliv- ered an address at a banquet. He will leave tomorrow for Charleston, 8. C., where he will address the New England Society Saturday evening. While in Charleston, the Secretary will enjoy a visit with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. David Coker. Mrs. Coker and her daughter Martha will come to Washington a | few days after Christmas to visit the Secretary and Mrs. Roper. The Ambassador of Mexico, Senor Dr. Don Fernando Gonzalez Roa, ac- companied by his nieces, Senorita Dolores Chica Alatorre and Senorita Sara Chico Alatorre, are en route to | their home in Mexico City to spend | the holidays. The Minister-counselor of the Spanish Embassy and Senora de Yrujo have with them for Christmas holidays, the latter's mother, Senora de Aspe, wife of Senor Jose Aspe of Mexico, and her daughter, Senorita Carmen Aspe. ‘The retiring Minister of Finland, Mr. L. Astrom, will entertain a small company at tea this afternoon in the legation. Cards have been issued. ‘The retiring Minister of Greece and Mme. Simopoulos will leave Washing- ton January 6 and will be in New York until they sail Wednesday, Jan- uary 9, aboard the Majestic for Eng- land, where the Minister will take up his duties as Greek Minister at the Court of St. James. The Minister and Mme. Simopoulos were guests in whose honor Mr. and Mrs. W. Forbes Morgan entertained at dinner last evening.
