Another attempt by Senator Edge, Republican, of New Jersey, to bring up his bill for a survey to determine the feasibility of a canal across Nicaragua failed in the Senate yesterday when Senator Dill, Democrat, Washington, objected to its consideration “so long as the Marines are kept in Nicaragua.” Senator Edge, however, has received preferred legislative status for his bill, so it may still come to a vote in this session.
