BOSTON, June 5 (United States Department of Agriculture).—Buyers’ interest in domestic wools increased during the last week, although actual trading volume was about unchanged. There was more activity than in recent weeks in getting information on various lines being offered. A few purchases of fine Western wools were made for immediate needs. Fair weights of country packed medium fleece wools were taken by a few con- cerns at stiffening prices. Graded Ohio fleeces were quiet, with fine delaine quoted 40-41 cents in the grease and staple combing half blood at 42-43 cents. A few lots were moved in combing three-eighths length at 42-43 cents and in quarier blood at 41-42 cents. RAIL ORDERS PLACED. NEW YORK, June 5 (#).—Chicago | & Northwestern has ordered one 4-6-4 | locomotive from American Locomotive | Co., making a total of nine ordered | since February. General Electric Co. | has received an order from East Erie | Commercial Railroad for one Diesel electric switching engine and Pullman- Standard Car Manufacturing Co. is supplying Chicago, Rock Island & Pa- cific with 10 coaches, Domestic Copper Steady as Foreign Quotations Ease Er the Associated Press. NEW YORK, June 5—The copper ‘picture was unchanged in the domestic market last week, with the price hold- ing steady at 14 cents a pound, de- livered valley. Domestic buying was #aid to have been in somewhat smaller volume, due to the influence of new labor difficulties. In the export market, however, prices turned easy and lost about 3 cent on a let-up in demand. It was observed that whereas sev- eral weeks ago predictions were gen- eral that domestic copper would soon make up the differential then prevail- ing and rise to a parity with export, the reverse of that expectation has occurred. At the close of the week, export commanded a premium of only 7 points, ruling at 14.07. Stock Averages Indys, Ralis.
