TOKIO, Oct. 28—The Domel (Japanese) News Agency reported from Seoul, Korea, that Soviet and Manchukuo detachments skirmished in a new border incident today. The dispatch said Soviet troops fired on Manchukuo guards at Suiruho, northwest of Posiet Bay, which lies The WASHINGTON, D. Davis, who, though blind, had no fear of the hazards of Washington's traffic because of his watchful “eyes,” was buried today in Rock Creek Ceme- tery. He died Tuesday of a cerebral| hemorrhage. Friends said he had complained of not feeling well, and left his home at 617 F street to go to a doctor. Death came shortly after he reached the physician’s office. Davis, who was 53, was born in Martinsburg, W. Va., and was a leader in the comparatively new idea of teaching dogs to guide the blind. He not only trained his own Fanny but also trained several dpgs for the late blind Senator Schall of Minnesota. Davis was refused enlistment in the Army at the outbreak of the World | War because of color blindness. Short- ly afterward he became an inspector | in the Dupont powder factory in Wil- | mington, Del. and two days later he was infured by an explosion. From | then on his sight became steadily worse, and he finally became totally blind. Davis is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Jesse Nicholson, Chevy Chase, | Md.: Mrs. Bertha Rodrick, Wardman Park Hotel, and Mrs. Forest Valin, also of Washingtan, and two brothers who live in New York. The dog is being kept temporarily at Nicholson’s home.
