In the last hour plus signs were in the majority, with the advantage over the previous close ranging to 2 or more points for a number of active issues. NEW YORK, Oct. 28.—The New York Stock Exchange announced & “flash” quotation service on its tickers for periods of heavy trading and de- layed recording of transactions. Adoption of the system was in line with efforts to lessen the ticker's lag in reporting trades. In the big mar- kets of last week, the ticker at one time was as much as 22 minutes be- hind the market and frequently it was 6 to 8 minutes late. The plan is to ease congestion by printing specially expedited prices of various leading shares at frequent in- tervals when the taps runs five or more minutes late. The quotations will be printed “as promptly after the execution a8 possible,” the exchange said, “and will appear well in ad- vance of their normal position on the tape.” The actual figures will be preceded by the word “flash.” BU' 9% score, 1-pound prints.
