FLETCHER, 8, DIES IN HOSPITAL Injuries From Fall Lead to Death of Retired Army Officer. Capt. Robert Howe Fletcher, 86, J. S. Army, retired, died last night in ‘Walter Reed Hospital, where he had been taken last Thursday after being injured in a fall at his residence, the Brighton Hotel. He suffered arm and wrist fractures in the fall and pneumonia developed. Capt. Fletcher served with distinc- tion in the Army and later gained prominence as an artist and author. He was a son of the late Dr. Robert Fletcher, famous physician, who served with the Union forces in the Army of the Cumberland during the Civil War. Later Dr. Fletcher was a gold medalist of the Royal College of Surgeons, England, and librarian of the library of the surgeon general of the Army. Born in Cincinnati on July 21, 1850, | Capt. Fletcher was graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1872. At that time there was little action in was censtantly in the field against the Transferred to Army. Capt.
