RYE, N. Y. October 10—Elgood Chauncey Lufkin, from 1920 to 1926 cinairman of the Texas Co. Board of Directors, died last night at his home after an iliness. He was 71. He had been in the oil business for NING STAR,, WASHINGTON, more than 54 years and during the World War was vice chairman of the Petroleum V'ir Service Board. He was & former director of the Chase Becurities Co. and the Seaboard Na- tional Bank of New York and vice president and director of the Midland Securities Co. From 1895 to 1909 he was general manager of the Snow Steam Pump Works in Buffalo, N. Y., going from there to Houston, Tex., to become gas department manager and vice presi- dent of the Texas Co.
