S8OCIETY, Weddings of the Week Golden-Collins Nuptials Today. - Other Ceremones. : The marriage of Miss Glenn Rollins, daughter of Mrs. Annie 1. Rollins of | poi Lyon Village, Va., formerly of King Georges County, Va., and Mr. Leonard Golden, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Golden of Clarendon, Va., took place today in the North Side Baptist Church at Richmond, Va., the Rev. Perry L. Mitchell, pastor of the Clar- endon Baptist Church, officiating at noon. The bride was dressed in a wine- color crepe dress, designed on Renais- sance lines, her matching hat having a nose veil, and she wore a corsage bouquet of gardenias. Her sister, Mrs. Wallace Lancaster of Lyon Village, was her only attendant, wearing a navy-blue costume with matching ac- cessories. Mr. Lancaster was best man. Immediately following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Golden left by motor for a wedding trip through the south- ern part of Virginia, and upon their return will make their home in Colo- nial Village, in Clarendon, Va. Last Saturday evening the bride- elect was guest of honor at a shower given by her sister, Mrs. Lancaster, at her home in Lyon Village, and Monday evening Mrs. V. Golden of Waycroft, Va. entertained for her. Mr. Golden is a graduate of Washing- ton-Lee High School and a member of Delta Sigma fraternity. The wedding took place yesterday at St. Paul's Rock Creek Church of Miss Alcena Lamond White, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William La Rue White | of Takoma Park, D. C., and Mr. John Douglas Bradshaw, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ashton Bradshaw of Fred- ericksburg, Va. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. Franklin Bohannon, pastor of the church at 8 o'clock before a large company of relatives and friends. Immediately following the ceremony there was & reception for members of the immediate families at the home of the bride’s parents. The church was effectively decorated with white chrys- | anthemums about the candle-lighted altar, which was banked with palms and ferns, and on each pew was a bouquet of large white chrysanthe- | mums tied with white satin ribbon. | Just before the wedding Mr. John Switzer sang “Because” and “I Love You Truly,” accompanied at the organ | by Mr. H. B. Steers. The bride was given in marriage by her father, and | wore a long wedding gown of eggshell- colored satin with a yard train form- ing a fan shape from the full skirt. It had a high neckline with puffed sleeves to the elbow and tightened to the wrist with tiny satin buttons of the | same material and buttons on the back of the gown from the neckline to the waist. A coronet of rhinestones on transparent shell, fastened on each side by clusters of orange blossoms, held in place a long veil of tulle, and she carried a shower bouquet of white bride’s roses and lilies of the valley. Miss Virginia Hope, the maid of honor, was attired in a long sleeveless gown of peacock blue fashioned with a detachable train hanging from the | hipline and she wore a turban of vel- vet with a tulle veil to match and | carried Johanna Hill roses. The bridesmaids, Miss Esther Bright and Miss Virginia Lamond WhNe, sisters of the bride, were dressed alike in beige satin gowns with jackets to match, fashioned with jackets with | corded collars, long tight sleeves | and the skirts were of sweeping | length. Their hats were brown velvet | turbans and they wore brown suede slippers and carried yellow and bropze ms. Mr. R. L. Houston Jones of Takoma Park, Md., was the best man and the bridegroom had Mr. Angus Lamond, jr., of Takoma Park, D, O, cousin of the bride; Mr. Louis K. Lynn of Washington, Mr. Slater Lamond and Mr. Clyde C. Lamond, jr., of -Alexan- dria, Va., twin cousins of the bride, as ushers. ‘Talisman roses, a three-tier wedding cake and tall white tapers in silver candelabra formed the decorations at the bride's table at the reception. White chrysanthemums, palms and ferns were artistically arranged throughout the rooms. The out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. John Ashton Bradshaw of Fredericksburg, Va., Mrs. Howard Seavers of Alliance, Ohio; Miss Lucille Williard of Lisbon, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ziegler of Baltimore, Mrs. Charles L. Bradshaw of Annapolis, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Jones of Stafford and Mr. William B. White of Barnes- ville, Md. ‘The bridal couple left for a two- week motor trip to Florida, the bride wearing a hand-knitted suit of dark green with matching accessories and a rust-colored tweed coat. They will stop at the University of Alabama to isit Miss Janet White, sister of the bride, who is a student there. Upon their return they will live in Wash- ington.
