POLISH JEWS REFUSED ENTRY TO PALESTINE ITourists Also Barred Out of Egypt—TFive Girls Outwit Law i by Getting Married. JERUSALEM, December 15 (Palcor Agency) —Twenty-three Polish Jews, Iwo Thursday came to Palestine as tourists, were refused permission to enter the country by the immigration department, and sent back to Egypt, their last stopping point. Today the Egyptian government deported the en- tire group back to Poland. Five young Jewish girls, who had en- tered Palestine illegally, outwitted the immigration officials. While on the train, bound for jail, they were mar- ried to their fiances despite the oppo- sition of the guards. By marrying native Palestinians they became citi~ zens. CAMBRIDGE, Mass., December 15. —Discovery of the most brilliant star found in the Northern Hemisphere since 1918 was reported here last night by Dr. Harlow Shapley, director of the harvard observatory. The new star was discovered by J. M. Prentice, an amateur astronomer of Suffolk County, England. The star was observed shortly after sunset in 8 position eight degrees below the star Vega. In the early morning, Prentice sald, the star was observed eight degrees above Vega.
