A—12 THE SUNDAY STAR, WASHINGTON, D. C, DECEMBER 16, 1934—PART ONE. NEW PLANES TO REDUCE D. C.-DETROIT AIR TIME 3-Mile-a-Minute Transports to Be Put Into Service by Pennsyl- vania Airlines. Three-mile-a minute transport air- planes will be put into service next week between Washington, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Detroit, cutting flying time from Washington to Detroit to three and one-half hours, it was an- nounced yesterday by Pennsylvania Alrlines. The new planes will make connec- tions with planes of four of the major airlines of the Nation, reducing ma- terially travel time to all parts of the country, especially to the Great Lakes and Northwest, it was announced. Travel time to Pittsburgh will be reduced _to 75 minutes and direct connections will be made there with transcontinental planes. At Cleve- land connections will be made with transcontinental lines and to Chicago. The cross-lake route between Cleve- land and Detroit is to be covered on & 40-minute schedule. ‘The new planes are Boeing twin- engined low-wing transports, sisters of the plane in which Col. Roscoe Turn:- and Clyde Pangborn finished third in the London-Melbourne race ahead of many of the picked racing planes of Europe. R. A. Arkansas Federal Judge Denies Auto Comapny Dismissal. FORT SMITH, Ark, December 15 (#).—Federal Judge Heartsill Ragon today overruled a motion to dismiss tm suit of the Government against E. Anderson, Paris, Ark., automo- bfle dealer, in which Anderson 1.1 charged with violating the N. R. auto Will G. Akers of Little Rock, repre- senting the Arkansas code authority, said the ruling “means the automobile code is an enforceable part of the law of the land.” @ The Government's suit seeks a permanent injunction to prevent fur- ther alleged violations of the code. Anderson contended that dealing in second-hand automobiles does not constitute interstate commerce, and therefore the code does not apply to these transactions.
