Robinson, president of the Wash- ington Bar Association and vice presi- dent of the national body. Representative Oscar de Priest of Chicago, only colored member of Con- gress, will be among the cpeakers. Others will be Dr. Mordecai Johnson, president of Howard University; Wil- liam E. Lewis of Boston, who was As- sistant Attorney General in the Taft administration; Robert Sengstacke Abott, editor of the Chicago Deferder, and Judge Scipio A. HOPKINSVILLE, Ky., July 19.—Ed- gar Doss, 21, who as a trusty won the heart of Miss Ruth Stephens, deputy county clerk, and married her while serving a term for housebreaking, escaped from the county jail yesterday. His term would have expired August 2. Doss, a student in the University of Illinois, tired of college life, he said, and last Winter joined a traveling show. He was stranded here, became drunk, robbed a house, and was sentenced to six_months. While on leave as a trusty recently he eloped with Miss Stephens.
