Amuse- .. ment issues carrying stock features furned heavy, reflecting the w of the shares and obligations that had been buoyant earlier in the week, and « suffered losses that in some instances extended to several points. Warner Bros. Picture 6s dipped to a new low at around 108, while General Theatres Equipment 6s lost' 3 points and Loew's 6s declined 2. The firmer rallroad issues included Santa Fe general 4s, Pennsylvania 413s, New Haven 4!gs, Missouri Pacific 5s, Kansas City Southern 5s and Union Pacific 41,5, American Telephone 5s of 1965 and Western Union 33 made small advances. Republic Iron & Steel 514s rose more than a point. American Telephone convertible 4'3s declined about. 2 points on light selling. Baltimore & Ohio 4!is and Interna- tional Telephone 4',s were firm. Neither United States, or foreign gov- ernment bonds displayed much activity. Treasury 3%s sagged. BQllimore Markets @pecial Dispatch to The St BALTIMORE, Md., April 5—The egg market shows little material change in prices and was held fairly steady the past week, with liberal offerings and sales on the exchange. There has been more liberal storing noted and all desirable stock is in good demand, but offerings of doubtful quality are slow to find favor. Receipts of native and nearby eggs continue ample for the con- sumptive demand and the market closed & shade higher at 25': cents a dozen for firsts, with hennery whites bringing 2 premium of a cent a dozen over quo- tations, but all stock not grading firsts under the candle has to be sold at a discount. Duck eggs in more liberal receipt and the market rules easy. with prices mostly in buyers favor at 40 cents a dozen. Poultry Prices. The live poultry market continues steady to firm under light receipts, with & good demand prevailing for all desir- able stock, which meets with ready sale at full quotations. Season for turkeys is over, and with the warm weather prevailing only small shipments are Visable, as the demand is limited and centered on medium-sized fat stock, hen turkeys preferred, while old toms, as well as crooked breasts are slow sale, even at discounts. Young hen turkeys, 8 pounds and over, are bringing 40 cents a pound, and young gobblers 35, but old toms are slow sale at 30, while crooked breasts are neglected at 25. Young chickens in light receipt, espe- clally broilers, which are scarce and wanted at 40 to 42, with other young stork selling 33 to 38, but all poor, thin poultry, as well as stags, move slow at 23 to 25. Old hens in better demand and under light receipt. The market shows an advance at 30 to 31 for stock weighing 314 pounds and over, but Leg- horns will not bring over 25 to 28, and all poor, thin fowl is neglected at 20. Capons scarce and wanted at 35 to 40. but old roosters in ample supply and generally slow sale at 17 to 20. Ducks in moderate receipt, and all desirable stock meets with ready sale at 24 to 30, but, small and poor ducks weighing less than 4 pounds are not wanted. The market for guinea fowl and pigeons holds steady at 50 to 75 each for the former and 30 to 35 a pair for the latter. While the market for white potatoes cuaanues unsettled, old stock is in bet- ter demand and values a shade higher, at 2.65 to 2.90 per hundred pounds, but ungraded potatoes will not bring over 225 to 2.40. Sweet potatoes and yams in generally light receipt. and the mar- ket shows an advance, at 2.50 to 4.00 a barrel for the former and 2.25 to 3.50 for the latter, but ungraded stock will not bring over 2.00 to 2.25. Native and nearby garden truck in moderate re- ceipt, and under a fairly good demand the market holds steady on most lines at the following quatations: Kale, 50 to 75 bushel; onions, 3.00 to 850 per hundred pounds, and 1.50 to 1.75 per hundred for nearby greens; oysterplants, 3.00 to 5.00 per hundred; parsnips, 50 to 65 basket: spinach, 35 to 75 bushel, and turnips, 60 to 75 hamper. Live Stock Market. The live cattle market continues steady, but. prices show little change from last week, receipts being light on the wharves and only fair at the stock- yards. Demand good for desirable stock. ‘but all common to ordinary cattle move slow at inside prices. Quotations today at Light Street Wharf: 5 Beef cattle, first quality, 11 to 12; common to medium, 8 to 10. Bulls, as to quality, 6 to 9. Cows, choice to fancy, 7 to 8; common to fair, 4 to 6. Oxen, as to quality, 6 to 8. Calves, Veal, choice, 13 to 13%; large fat, 11 to 12; large rough, 10 to 11; thin, 7 to 8: rough and common, 6 to 7.
