Numerous patriotic, military and re- Hglous organizations in Washington are being invited by the Military Order of the World War to participate in the third annual memorial service in com- memoration of the Nation's war dead,| which will be an event of May 25, the Sunday before Memorial day, in the| open-air amphitheater of Washington Cathedral on Mount St. Alban. The ceremonies last year, which took | the form of a massing of the colors, | were attended by about 10,000 persons and plans are being made to accom- | modate more than 100 participating organizations and as many as 15.000 persons. A colorful massing of United States flags and the standards of par- ticipating organizations against a back- ground of appropriate music will fea- ture the observance. ‘The order of services includes a ser- mon by Right Rev. James E. Freeman, Bishop of Washington, prayers com- memorating the sacrifice of those who died in the Nation's service and music by massed choirs and military bands and drum corps.
