William ‘T. Tarrant, U. S. N, of Washington. Capt. Tarrant was accompanied to Quantico by Lieut. Col. Frank Halford of Marine Corps headquarters in Wash- ington. Both were the guests for luncheon of Maj. and Mrs. C. F. B. Price. Mrs. Hughes, wife of Lieut. W. R. Hughes, left this week for New York to spend some time with her parents prior to leaving for Nicaragua, where Lieut. Hughes will be on duty with Marine Corps aviation. Capt. and Mrs, L. D. Hermle have as their guests for the week end Capt. and Mrs. Lee H. Brown of Washington. Mrs. Lewis, wife of Capt. A. T. Lewis, entertained about a dozen children Sat- urday afternoon for her small son George in celebration of his sixth birth- day anniversary. Games were played and refreshments were served later in the afternoon. ‘The Court of Honor, held last Wed- nesday night by the Boy Scouts at Quantico, had Mr. W. Leach of Alex- andria as examiner. Merit badges were awarded to the boys as follows: Samuel Blum, one; Walter Shoemaker, four; Carl Hull, five; Howard Jeans, five: Knowles Henley, six; Allen Hawes, five; Willlam Hawthorne, five, and Roy Hunt, seven. The base ball schedule for this week included Monday’s game by the big team with University of Vermont, the visitors being here for the week end. ‘Thursday the team played Villa Nova College. Friday the game was with Dartmouth and for Sunday the con- testants are the Yale team.
