Cards have been recelved from Mr. and Mrs. John Meredith Miller an- nouncing the marriage of their daugh- ter Carmen Meredith to George Gay- lord Pendleton November 9 in New York City. Mr. Pendleton has many relatives here and throughout Virginia, although he was born and reared in Northampton, Mass., and was & school- mate of the sons of former President Coolidge. He is a direct descendant of Capt. Nathaniel Pendleton of Virginia, Revolutionary officer, who was a brother of Edmund Pendleton, the Colonial jurist, and the father of Maj. Nathaniel Pendleton, jr., also a Revolutionary of- ficer and an aide-de-camp on the staffl of Gen. Nathaniel Greene. Mr, Pendle- ton is a great-nephew of the late George Hunt Pendleton, Minister to Germany from 1885 to 1889, and also of Edmund Pendleton, whose widow has lived at Stoneleigh Court, in Washington, for a number of years. Mr. Pendleton has been on the professional stage since his boyhood, and has appeared in the com- panies of Mrs. Fiske, Helen Hays and others.
