By the Assoclated Press An early report on the activities of J. A. Arnold, n Tariff Association, is forthcoming from the Senate lobby committee Chairman Caraway of the committee had planned to submit the report to the Senate tomorrow, but he said yesterday it had not been completed and would be presented soon thereafter. Arnold was questioned by the com mittee for nine d ager of the Southern | activities in connection with the pend- ing tariff bill and in advocating repeal of the inheritance tax. Have Joint Offices. In addition to being manager of the | Tariff Association, he holds the same | position with the American Taxpayers' League and has co-operated with the National Council of State Legislatures. | The three organizations have joint of- | fices in Washington. The committee also questioned John | Henry Kirby of Houston, Tex., president |of the tariff association, and Thomas | A. Hill of Pine Bluff, Ark., treasurer of | the legislature’s organization. The re- port is expected to, discuss their activi- ties. | Will Question Barnes. The committee plans to question Jul- | fus Barnes, head of President Hoover's advisory council, Tuesday, in regard to reports that he has opposed formation {of grain co-operative organizations by the Federal Farm Board. The reports have been denied at the White House |and by Alexander Legge, chairman of the farm board. Available. Whether this phase of the committee’s | investigation will end with the ques: tioning of Barnes, a former grain op- erator on the Chicago Exchange, had not been determined yesterday. The committee announced that any further plans would depend on the testimony of Barnes. \ H. C. Lakin, president of the Cuba Co., who was the witness all this week, has been directed to reappear Tuesday. That |is the report of the discovery made by a recent naturalists’ expedition in Southeastern Austrelia. The wigglers are from four to six feet long and one inch in diameter and when they retreat into their burrows they gurgle like a choaked gutter.
