As former hos twss of the International Friendshiy: House of the ¥. W. C. A. in Tokio, Mrs. Eddy has had 4 wide acquaint- ance with Orientals of all classes. A series of eight conferences for national and local leaders of the Y. W. C. A. is announced for early Fall and Winter, under the chairman ship of Mrs, Frederick Paist of Phila delphia. Each con! ce will have a general theme, vouth, or ¢ kindred general problem of today Approximate locations announced arc Texas, Virginia. Colorado, California Towa, Washington and Florida. New York may be added as a meeting place for those in the East. Each locality, according to Mrs. Paist, wili choose its own program. The pool departmeht announces an extra dip period beginning this week for each Friday night from 8:40 to 9:20, to help care for the increased numbers using the pool. Kamp Kahlert will have about Tb guest this week. There are 17 week end guests and acationists, 6 of whom are seniors and 19 juniors. A large number of juniors are staying over a second week at the camp. _The base ball game between Kamp Kahlert and the Baltimore camp, which the Washington team won, haa a sequel in a return visit last week. A large number of Baltimore rooters accompanied the team to Kahlert. A group of girls from the Business and Professional Women's department are spending the week end at Kahlert. The International Federation of Catholic Alumnae will hold its seventh blennial convention September 4 to }Odnt St. Mar College, Notre Dame, nd. A committee of Holy Cross alumnae throughout the country is in charge of arrangements for the convention. Miss Mary Louise Darr and Miss Flise Linfert of Washington are the local members of this committee, Approximately 500 schools in the United States, Canada and Kurope are affiliated, representing a member- ship of more than 60,000 women, All will send delegates. SUES FOR DIVO_IiCE. Richard L. Whittemore Charges Wife With Misconduct. Richard L. Whittemore, 486 Loui- slana_avenue, vesterday filed suit in the District Supreme Court for an absolute divorce from Adele E. Whittemore, 2716 Ontario road, charg- ing misconduct with unknown parties. They were married in this city Sep- tember 9, 1920, and have no children. Attorneys W. R. Strickland and Jacob 8. Detwiler appear for the husband, Mrs. Whittemore is now on proba- tion under a suspended sentence of two years in the penitentiary on a charge of mayhem. The sentence was imposed last February, when she was indicted for throwing a bucket of lye in the face of Frank E. Jones, fol- lowing a quarrel at her apartment.
