NEW YORK, June 15.—Cotton con- tinued its rally today in moderately active commission house and foreign buying promoted by reports of un- | favorable weather 'n the cotton belt. Fina! prices showed net gains of 7 to 9 points. Early buying from both domestic and foreign sources was credited partly to overmignt consideration of statements by Senator Bankhead pointing to the 1elatively smail stocks nf cotton in iree channels and the suggestion that ‘ittle of the approxi- mately five and one-quarter million bales controlled cr financed by the Government wonid come out much below 13 cents. Heavy rains in Cen- tral and South Texas and reports of floods in the Southwestern part of that State also bicught ‘in demand. The volume of business activity, however, dropped to a new low, now placed 23 per cent under normal as compared with 21 per cent for the corresponding period last year. Farm Prices Slump. Agricultural prices declined sharply, reflecting an improvement in growing conditions and a prospective total tonnage of grains and foodstuffs as well as feeds that is materially above last year's subnormal volume and 8lso & supply more in alignment with average. During the week advances were noted in only two items—beans and peanuts, while nine items de- clined, namely, wheat, corn, oats, rye, cotton, eggs, potatoes, flaxseed and butter. Live stock prices also moved down- ward at & sharp pace during the week. The decline was primarily due to hogs, sheep and lambs. Cattle prices not only resisted bearish pressure but ad- | vance moderately.
