ANNAPOLIS, June tomobile titling taxes for May ex: ceeded the monthly quota of $291.- 666.67 needed for relief purposes today | with 19,200 retailers reported. The clerks have tabulated a total of $338,683.85 in May payments. An additional | $12,716.74 has been received from the automobile tax during June. ‘The amount collected for May ex- | ceeds by $47,017.18 the relief quota for | the month, on the basis of $3,500,000 annually. The excess of the tax above the relief needs remains in the treas- ury for old-age pensions. Gross receipts taxes for May show an increase over payments for April. During May the 19,200 returns pro- duced $296099.86 compared to the | $257,191.29 received in April from 119,916 returns. This is the closest | comparable check available on the | books.
