CHEST UNIT MAPS CAMPAIGN IN FALL Assistant Director Hinds Has Held Meetings With Personnel Groups. Members of the Metropolitan Unit of the Community Chest are already holding meetings in preparation for the November campaign. A. Boyd Hinds, assistant director, has been assigned to this unit and already has met with the personnel of three of the areas. Bernard Wyckoff, the chairman, is fast completing his or- | ganization and hopes to have a plan of campaign well under way at an early date. St. Joseph's Home and School, The class of 1935 held its com- mencement exercises Thursday eve- ning at the school. Members of the class are Joseph William Bickel, Jonn Williams Murphy, Thomas Irving Reed, Julius Warren Ryals, Charles Riston Schroth and Thomas Willard Tarmon. Southwest Community House. The Midsummer outdoor recrea- tional program is in full swing, with games of ping-pong, paddle” tennis, ring dances, folk dances, volley ball and base ball. Friendship House. The Mothers' Club will hold its annual picnic today at the home of Mrs. Baden, the honorary president, and will view her garden. The after- noon will be spent in discussion and games. A group of dancing classes and the Bing Song Glee Club participated in the program given at the Georgetown Children’s House last week. The day home parents are having their last meeting of the season next week in the form of a picnic at Hains Point. Phyllis Wheatley Y. W. C. A. The Board of Directors and the staff will meet at a luncheon Saturday st 1 o'clock. The Entertainment Committee of the Hostess Club sponsored a supper dance at the gymnasium last Friday evening. The Membership and Girl Reserve Committees will be hostesses to the graduates of the 1935 class at a re- ception next Sunday. ‘The Summer program of the Busi- ness and Industrial Department will begin this week and will include in- door tennis, swimming. arts and crafts. A special vesper service will be held next Sunday at 4 o'clock. St. Rose’s Technical School. Graduation exercises will be held next Sunday at 4 o'clock. Most Rev. BY the Associated Press. 1OS ANGELES, June 15—Dorothy Devore, film actress, brought action in Superior Court today for An in- junction to prevént her former hus- band, A. W. Mather, wealthy Honolulu importer, from suing her any more, at least on one eomplaint. Miss Devore said an appeal is now pending before the State Supreme Court on litigation for recovery of about $30,000 Mather lost to her in the lower courts. Nevertheless, she complained, Mather repeatedly has tried to get injunctions to prevent her from disposing of the property and has filed and dismissed another suit such s the one now on appeal. Mather first sued on the contention that he had given her the $30,000 under a property settlement only be- cause she represented falsely that she had been a dutiful wife and their estrangement was his fault.
