WASHINGTON girls and young women thinking of those hot summer months to come are learn- ing to swim at the indoor pool of the Young Women's Christian Association at Seventeenth and K streets N.W. Every potential swimmer is required to pass.a physical examination by the Y. W. C. A. doctor before instruction begins. The instruction periods last about a half hour each and the average person can manage an elementary crawl stroke after about six lessons.
