B—12 * NAVY CRAFT BID OPENING DEFERRED Construction of Seaplane and Destroyer Tenders Are Involved. At the request of prospective bid- ders the Navy has announced the opening date of bids for the cen- struction of the hulls of a seaplane tender and a destroyer tender has been deferred until December 1. Originally the bids were to be opened November 17. That line was one side of a triangle. Somewhere out of sight in the woods was Farmer Brown's boy, following another bee line, which was the other side of the triangle. His curiosity had led him to a place where Sammy had caught a glimpse of him. Never having seen Jumper before, he had forgotten the bees and had turned aside for a better look at Jumper. The latter had dodged from cover to cover, Sammy following. Now he hadn't the slightest idea where that bee line was. Farmer Brown's Boy was calling, so there was npthing for Sammy to do but to join him and tell him that they must start all over again. Fortunately, Sue, who was following her cousin and carrying the bee box, still had two bees prisoners. Sammy and Sue tipped their heads back, t00, and looked, but didn’t really know what they were looking for. Tommy knew. He had hunted bees before. “I've got it!” e presently ex- claimed. “It’s that old hemlock. It is partly dead, and there must be & big hollow in it. Look about two-thirds of the way up té the top.
