By the Assoctated Press. NEW YORK, January 14—Low- yield corporate liens showed a moder- ate downward slant in today's bond market as investment circles con- tinued to scrutinize the credit horizon for further signs of hardening in money rates. In contrast, United States Govern- ments recorded a little progress in the early dealings in the face of Wash- ington advices quoting Secretary Morgenthau to the effect that the trend of bankers’ bill rates has a bear- ing on Government securities and the general money situation. Bill rates ‘were advanced 1/16 of 1 per cent yes- terday, and investment circles viewed the revision as another straw point- ing to a rise in the cost of short-term funds. Speculative sections took their cue from the action of the share list, and in a few industrial convertibles sub- stantial gains were established. Low yielders offered down frac | tionally included National Dairy 33ss, Pacific Gas 3%;s, Texas Corp. 3! nd Union Pacific 3'2s. i @NCIAL. By private wire direct to The Star.
