Joseph Raub, 62, an administra- tive assistant in the Division of Pack- ers and Stock Yards, Department of Agriculture, died Tuesday night of & heart attack at his home, 6618 Sixth street. Funeral services are being held . this afternoon at the Hines funeral home, 2901 Four- teenth street. Burial will be in Fort Lincoln Cemetery. Mr. Raub, a na- tive of Wwilllams- burg, Pa., began in the field serv- ice of the Agrie culture Depart- ment in 1907 and came here in 1913 to begin work in ths Washington office of the department. He was a mem= ber of the Washington Centennial Lodge of Masons and the Mount Ver- non Chapter of Royal ‘Arch Masons. He was the son of the late Dr. Jacob S. Raub, who was chief medical ref- eree of the Pension Office. Surviving Mr. Raub are his widow, Mrs. Grace S. Raub; a son, Donald J. Raub, and daughter, Miss Grace E. Raub. DR. DARTON HONORED Dr. N. H. Darton, recently retired from the United States Geological Survey after 51 years of service, was given a testimonial luncheon yester- day at the Cosmos Club by the mem- bers of the Survey. Dr. W. Funeral services for Mrs. .Cloyd Marvin, mother of Dr. Cloyd H. Mar-~ vin, president of George Washington University, are being held today in Santa Monica, Calif. Mrs. Marvin died Monday night in Los Angeles, Calif. Dr. Marvin left ‘Washington Saturday on learning of the critical illness of his mother. Un- able to fly because of weather condi- tions, he did not reach the bedside until after her death. Mrs. Marvin was the former Ger- trude Heck of Findlay, Ohio. She moved to California with her family in 1911 and had lived there since. Her husband died there in 1914. Besides Dr. Marvin, she leaves an- other son, Robert Marvin of Porter- ville, Calif., and two daughters, Mrs. Don Scott of Santa Monica and Mrs. Leslie Craig of Honolulu. McKnight, 70, formerly of 906 Webster street here and a resi- dent of this city for many years, died | Mr. McKnight was an employe in the Government Printing Office here and later was connected with the Army War College. He was a widower of only 10 days, his wife, Mrs. Ada J. McKnight, having died here on New Year day. He was born in Charles Pown, W. Va., and spent some time in Idaho be- fore coming to Washington. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frank A. Nickols, Takoma Park, Md.; a son, Joseph L. Q McKnight, Charlottesville, and a sister, Mrs. Emmett Cnmr. also of Charlottes- ville.
