B—10 DECREE IS GRANTED IN LUCKENBACH SUIT Separate Maintenance to Be De- termined as Sensational Case Is Ended. B the Assoctated Press. SAN FRANCISCO, November 5.— A separate maintenance decree for Mrs. Gladys Luckénbach yesterday ended her sensational marital cas: against Lewis Luckenbach, steamship | official. Superior Judge James G. Conlan granted the decree after a week’s should have. She asked $1,000 & month for herself and daughter. Mrs. Luckenbach, fourth wife of the shipping magnate, charged cruelty. She testified he took her to a New Orleans resort to witness a lewd per- formance, and that she once found him in the room of her colored maid. A former house employe testified Luckenbach sometimes drank what he called “monkey gland cocktails,” and that Mrs. Luckenbach also took one occasionally. The employe said they were made of orange juice, gin, absinthe and grenadine. Judge Conlan held Luckenbach’s acts were “so weighty and impera- tive as to render the marital ties and duties impossible,” and Mrs. Luckene bach’s life with him “unsafe, intoler= able and unbearable.” THE EVENING STAR, WASHINGTON, D.
