Colbert, plumbing and heating contractor. died yesterday after a long illness at her home, 1782 Lanier place. Mrs. Colbert, a native of West Vir- ginia, had been a resident of this city since she was about 16 years old. She was a member of the Ladies’ Auxtlhry of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. - Besides her husband, she leaves four sons, Maurice R. and Arthur J. Mrs. Hutchins had been in failing health for several months. She was & daughter of Joshua Humphreys of Baltimore and was about 53 years old. She is survived by her husband, one son, Edgar Hutchins, jr: her father, and a sister, Miss Alice Humphreys of Baltimore. HUTCHINSON, Kans,, Nov. 5 (#).— A native Kansas farm-born attorney, Democratic Walter Huxman, will suc- ceed Republican Alf M. Landon as Governor of Kansas. The 49-year-old Huxman still owns a farm. When he attended Kansas University, Landon’s alma mater, he worked his way through by such odd jobs as currying horses. When he finished he had saved $1,000. Tax reform is his keynote. He talks farm talk. “Shucks,” the gray-haired Gover= nor-elect once said, “I guess my po- litical philosophy is just abotut that of the rest of the people in this section of the country.” SIOUX FALLS, 8. Dak., November 5 (A).—Leslie Jensen, 44, who climaxed his first venture into State politics by winning the governorship from the Democratic incument by 10,000 votes, is a native South Dakctan. President Roosevelt swept the State by 35,000. Jensen, a captain in France during the World War, was collector of in- ternal revenue from 1920 to 1932.
