VANCOUVER, British Columbia, October 3 (#).—A message received today from Inspector T. Van Dyk of the British Columbia game depart- ment said that an aerial search had found seven members of two hunting parties, lost for several days, alive | and well. The men were sighted by airplanes, the message said, in the Dorothy dis- trict of British Columbia, about 450 miles east of Prince Rupert. Van Dyk said deep snow made aerial landings impossible, but that he believed the hunters would reach Hudsons Hope in two or three days. One of the parties, headed by Dr. | J. Carr of Norriston, Pa. included Paul Binel of Minneapolis, Dr. H Leibold of Parkers Prairie, Minn., and L. S. Chadwick of Cleveland. In the other party was John A. Newberry of Huntington, W. Va. JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, October 3 (#).—A. E. Clouston, last remaining contestant in the England- to-Johannesburg Air Derby, crashed tonight near Gwelo, Southern Rho- desia, but both he and his passenger, F. E. Tasker, escaped Injury. Clouston had been in second place in the air race, which Charles W. A. Scott and his companion, Giles Guth- rie, won. Two men—Max H. Pindlay and his radio operator, A. H. Morgan—were killed when their plane crashed Thurs- day at Abercorn, Northern Rhodesia. Gwelo, where Clouston crashed, is about 130 miles south of Salisbury. 13 §1aR, WASHINGION, D.
