THE SUNDAY STAR, WASHINGTON, D. C, MARCH 24, 1935—PART TWO. AID APPLICATIONS DECREASE SHOWN Chest Officials Report 162 in February Compared to 300 Year Ago. A decided decrease in the number of applications for ald made at the Central Applications Bureau of the Community Chest, 1101 M street, as compared with those of the same period last year, is reported by Chest officials. During February there were only 162 applications for help, as compared with more than 300 for the same month last year. The decrease in the number of applications for help is attributed to improved facilities for handling these cases by both the Emergency Relief Association and the private organizations. Friendship House. The Women’s Friendship House Club will give a play, “The Wanderer,” at the settlement, 326 Virginia avenue southeast, next Wednesday night. The play was written by Mrs. Edward Coegel. The cast includes Miss Minnie Butts, Mrs. Marguerite Gray, Mrs. Pearl Wolfe and Mrs. Resa Wagner.
