TWO POLIGEMEN FREED ON BOND Officers Are Suspended on| Charge of Assaulting Man Believed Another. Warrants charging Policemen John 1. Shotzberger, 38, and Ernest T. Wes- | selles, 26, both of the sixth precinct, with assaulting Harrison M. Fuller, ! 841 Ingraham street, were issued in Police Court today. The officers werew suspended from duty shortly after- ! ward and their bond fixed at $300 each ' for arraignment Saturday. | The assault, it is charged, was made | when the police mistook Fuller for his | brother, Allen Fuller, against whom‘ they had a parking warrant. Information given today to the dis- trict attorney’s office was to the effect | that Shotzberger and Wesselles went ! to the Ingraham street address yes- terday morning to serve the parking warrant on Allen Fuller and were informed he was still in bed. Thereupon, it is charged, Shotz- ; berger went to the rear of the home | while Wesselles waited in the police | car. A short time thereafter, Harri- son Fuller said he started out the back way to a store and was struck twice in the head by Shotzberger be- fore he escaped and ran down the alley to the store. Upon arriving at the store, Harri- son Fuller charges, he was appre- hended again. He said Wesselles knocked him down while Shotzberger held him at bay with a pistol. There- after, he claims, they carried him bodily to the police car and took him to the station house, from which he was later released. INVESTIGATIE)N BUREAU SAVES U.
