Through her inimitable char- acterizations and laugh-provoking songs, with their special lyrics and intentionally off-pitch tones, she will poke fun at silly vanities and practices. The usual radio paraphernalia, in- cluding an orchestra, an announcer and assorted supporting players, will assist her. new kind of radio comedy—the A burlesquing of the world’s * *x k X RRANGEMENTS were completed today for the third annual inter- national children’s _Christmas party program Friday at 3 p.m. over WMAL. The program will be broad- cast from the N. B. C. studios in the National Press Building and will be carried by short-wave lengths to all parts of the world. Fifteen children, sons and daughters of prominegt diplomats in Washing- ton, will participate in the program, sponsored by the Greater National Capital Committee of the Washington Board of Trade. Among the partici- pants will be the daughters of three Ambassadors, Eva Maria Luther, daughter of the German Ambassador; Bakiko Saito, daughter of the Japa- nese Ambassador, and Elena Calderon, daughter of the Spanish Ambassador. The Marine Band will open the program with a selection of national anthems. Ted Kimball, N. B. C. an- nouncer, will introduce the children. Kimball speaks several foreign lan- guages and conducted a children’s pro- gram in Salt Lake City before coming here. * * % X HIL COOK, sole commander in . chief of his own “army of voices,” is going on the chain again.
