MRS. L. S. STEWART DIES OF PNEUMONIA Widow of Army Colonel Had Been Washington Resident for 25 Years. Mrs. Lillie Sewall Stewart, widow of Col. William F. Stewart, sr., died Mon- day of pneumonia at her home, 1712 Q street. She was in her 78th year. Born in Elkton, Md., the daughter of James Morsell and Ann Pinckney Sewall of Holly Hall, Mrs. Stewart had lived in Washington for the last 25 years. Mrs, Stewart, whose father fought in the Confederate Army during the Civil War, was married in 1875, when 16, to & man whose father had fought for the Union. Mrs. Stewart was the great-grand- daughter of Willlam Pinckney, United States Senator from South o-.roum snd Ambassador to Great Britain and Russia. She is survived by & son, Maj: Frederick F. Burnside, 61, retired Army officer who died Monday in Wal- ter Reed Hospital, will be buried in Arington National Cemetery following funeral services at Fort Myer Chapel this afternoon. Chaplain Julian E. Yates will officiate at the services. Born in Alexandria, Ohio, Col. Burnside was graduated from the Mili- tary Academy at West Point in 1896, later becoming military attache in Mexico City. By the Associated Press. - Return of prohibition and the pre- vention of the use of the radio and mails to advertise liquor in dry States were described yesterday by Bishop James Cannon, jr,, as the goal of the National Prohibition Council and the Federal Council of the Churches of Christ.
