Columbia engineers will rush a microphone and other equipment to the Pennsylvania yards in Lima, Ohio, where the fast express will be halted, a radio circuit hooked up to equi ment already installed in the observa- tion car of the train, and Carter will speak for 15 minutes. He will be h}t;’nymz from Chicago to Philadel- phia. ‘The Broadway Limited ordinarily is| «s scheduled to pass through Lima at 7:45 p.m., Carter's regular broadcast time, but the engineer will be in- structed to reach there five minutes earlier, to give the radio engineers time in which to link the radio equip- ment with the circuit. The Pennsyl- vania filer, which runs between Chi- cago and New York in 17 hours and 45 minutes, will remain at Lima| throughout the broadcast period. NEW YORK, December 18.—The Ward Line, through its counsel, noti- fied the Post Office Department last night that reports declaring the com- pany made “a profit” of $263,000 on the insurance of the Morro Castle were inaccurate. ‘The line’s chief counsel, Roscoe H. Hupper, told the Post Office inquiry into steamship mail subsidies: “If the depreciation set upon the books and the insurance collected were added together,” he continued, “the total would be a smaller figure than the present cost of replacement.” The full- insurance carried on the TWO DENY VIOLATING LIQUOR REGULATIONS Chris Pappas and Edward Robin- son Demand Jury Trials in Police Court.
