ADDITIONALKIDNAP PROSECUTIONS DUE Four More Facing Federal Indictments—Another Pleads Guilty. By the Assoclated Press. OKLAHOMA CITY, December 18. —Federal officials today were laying the ground work for further prosecu- tion in the Charles F'. Urschel kidnap- ing, an investigation that has taken agents from one section of the coun- try to the other. Sixteen already have been convicted in the case, a seventeenth has pleaded guilty, and Federal indict- ments have been returned against four others—a record for kidnaping cases. Mrs. Clara Feldman, wife of the kidnaper, Albert Bates, pleaded guilty yesterday to a charge of conspiracy in the case after she, her son, Edward Feldman; Alvin H. Scott, and two of the lawyers in the case were in- dicted. The two attorneys wére Ben B. Laska, famous criminal attorney of Denver, who defended Bates, and James C. Mathers, Oklahoma City, who also aided in the defense. The two attorneys were accused specifically of receiving part of the ransom that went to Albert Bates from the $200,000 collected for the release of the Oklahoma City oil mil- lionaire. Latest developments in the case which moved originally from Okla- homa City to Paradise, Tex., then on to Minneapolis, St. Paul, Denver and Memphis, Tenn.,, came with the ar- rest of Scott after an automobile ac- cident at Roseburg, Oreg., November 3. Discovery of part of the ransom money on Scott was followed by the arrest of his housekeeper, Margaret Hurtienne, and Mrs. Feldman and her son. Failing these essential changes he believes many rail properties face bankruptcy and eventually Federal ownership.
