JAMIESON AT AGE OF 78 YEARS | Retired Officer of Many Wars Passes Away at Walter Reed Hospital. Brig. Gen. Henry P. Birmingham, U. 8. A, 'retired, died yesterday at Wal- | ter Reed Hospital after an illness of several weeks. He was 78 years old and had been retired in 1918, but was actively engaged as head of the hos- pital at the U. S. Soldiers’ Home for 11_years thereafter. Gen. Birmingham was born in Brook- 1yn on March 15, 1854. He was a grad- | uate of the University of Michigan, where he received his degree in medi- cine in 1878. He was a veteran of In- dian campaigns, th Spanish-American War, the Philippine insurrection and was with the Army of Occupation in Cuba. He also had served in the Med- ical Corps during the Warld War. He is survived by two sons, Maj. R. C. Birmingham of Minneapolis, and Wwilllam Birmingham ol Paris, France, and two daughters, Mrs. Everett Har- man of West Virginia, and Miss Clara Birmingham of this city. He made his home at 2022 Columbia road Gen. Birmingham will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors Saturday morning.
