After extended conferences yesterday with President Hoover and other White House officials, W. Kingsland Macy, chairman of the New York State Re- publican Committee, said he had ex- pressed the opinion campaign funds would be difficult to obtain this year, not only in New York but in other States. Macy was accompanied by Willlam Zeigler, jr., treasurer of the New York State Committee, who voiced a similar opinion. Macy said he told the President he believed the “party situation in the State is becoming stronger all the time.” Zeigler said the conferences discussed the debt of the Republican party or- ganization in New York. No strong drive has been instituted for campaign pledges up to this time, he said.
