WORRY IS BLAMED FOR DISAPPEARANCE Wife of Missing Bethesda Physician Declines to Re- veal Nature of Trouble. By a Staff Correspondent of The Star. BETHESDA, Md., May 5—Dr. Emil G. Bauersfeld, prominent local physi- cian, who disappeared from his home on Highland avenue April 26, left because he was “greatly worried over some- thing that was pressing him,” Mrs. Bauersfeld said, but added she could not reveal the nature of his troubles. Dr. Bauersfeld, who is 43 years old, left in a highly-nervous condition some time between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. on April 26 after sitting up all night with his wife Mrs Bauersfeld said her husband had been unable to sleep due to_his nervous state. Dr. Bauersfeld had about $100 with him at the time, police were told, but left behind his automobile and walked off_from his home. Police of Montgomery County and! the District of Columbia started & search for the physician yesterday after his disappearance had been re- ported to Sergt. Earl H. Burdint by Mrs. Bauersicid, while authorities in New York have been asked to aid in the hunt A search of the woods near Bethesda failed to reveal any trace of the miss- ing_man Dr. and Mrs. children.
