Kelly and had been a resident of this city since 1903, when she came here from her home in Michigan, her native State. He had come home last Monday for an operation which was believed would be comparatively simple. His recovery | seemed assured, when, last Wednesday | afternoon he went into a gradual de- cline and passed away before his sons | could reach his side. | Given Military Farewell. Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery. A soft blanket of snow, fallen during the night, muffled the tread of an es- cort of the 7th Field Artillery from Fort Ethan Allen, who came to bid a mili- tary farewell to a comrade. Senator Greene had served with the 1st Regi- ment, Vermont Volunteer Infantry, dur- ing the Spanish-American War as a captain and at the close of the war was commissioned an aide de camp on the staff of the Governor of Vermont.
