By the Associated Pres: NEW ORLEANS, La., July 10.—Given up for dead yesterday after a plung from a 12-story window of a skyscraper, | Bernard Geiz, a city fireman on sick | leave, was discovered breathing after reaching a hospital and physicians have | hope of saving his life. Getz had gone to the office of the Veterans' Bureau in the building for examination. Suddenly he disappeared | out of the open window. His body | hurtled over the heads of pedestrian: and crashed through the top of a parked truck. In an ambulance a physician pro- nounced him dead. Later at the hospital he was found to be breathing. He was suffering from jbm‘ken arms and legs and internal in- uries. His wife said he had recently at. tempted suicide by slashing his throat. Recently he was released from the City Hospital for mental diseases and had expected to take treatment at a Government hospital.
