CHICAGO, July 10.—The evidence indicates that Frank Gartenberg had a tendency to marry himself out of the hotel business. He had four hotels to start with. When_ his first wife divorced him, he gave her a hotel and $30 a week ali- mony. When his second wife divorced him, she got a hotel and $10 a week. It was the same with the third wife, who divorced him May 27 this year. That left Gartenberg one hotel. He recognized that this hostelry would hardly keep up the alimony payments. He remarried his third wife. Now comes the first Mrs. Gartenberg complaining of alimony arrearage and asking the aid of the court. Garten- berg told Judge Willlams yesterday his remaining hotel business hardly justi- fled paying the arrearage. ‘The court held that, be that as it may, Mr. Gartenberg should forthwith pay up on the alimony—or else. If Mr. Gartenberg wanted to, he prob- ably could indite an epigram, something about many wives making for fewer hotels. But doubtless he won't. Popular Excursion VIA SOUTHERN RAILWAY Washington, D.
