Young Demas came to Washington from Greece 13 years ago. He is a graduate of McKinley Technical High School. Since his graduation he has participated in Admiral Byrd's expedi- tions to both the North and South Poles. He also aided in the Byrd trans- atlantic flight several years ago. Achllles Cateonis, supreme secretary of the Order of Ahepa, praised Demas for his courage and ability. He classed the youth as one of the most dis- tinguished men who ever came to this more recent expedition. Demas, whose home s at 1006 Irving street northeast, plans to study aero- nautical engineering at New York Uni- versity in the Fall.
