EORGETOWN UNIVERSITY basketers just about romped to a 43-10.27 victory over the Columbus Council, Brooklyn * [Kpights of Columbus team in Ryan gymnasium last night, never being on the short end of the count. The Hoyas proved the better shots from serim- mage, were far more eapable in floor play and far outclassad their foes at tossing from the charity line. It was the free throw as much as anything else that helped Georgetown score such a decisive victory. It had 25 chances to get points from the white line and made in 17 attempts. The Brooklyn I;l\lltghu had 13 free Dillon and Morris did some sensa- tional scoring from scrimmage for the Hoyas, the former sinking two of his four goals from near the center of the court, Lang and Crane, Brooklyn for wards, also did some fancy basket fling« ing. Generally, Georgetown's defense was 50 taut that the visitors had little N. C opportunity to make throws from under the basket. . The game started slowly and was under way 8 minutes before Feeney o! f v | the Brooklyn team did the first scoring from sc: ge. from charity stripe, were in the lead at the time, however, and maintained such a scoring pace that they never had less than a 4-point lead.
