SOCIETY. ,Charming Weddings Listed In Late Winter Chronicles Ceremony of Yesterdny Afternoon at St. Alb.n's Church of Special Interest in Capital Society Miss Virginia Wilson Weakley, daugh- ter of Dr. Arthur D. Weakley, Mr. | Donald Foote Roberts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willlam E. Roberts of Cleveland, | were married yesterday afternoon. The | ceremony was performed in St. Alban’s Church at 4:30 o'clock, the Rev. Charles ‘Warner, rector, officiating. ‘The bride was given in marriage by her father and wore a gown of cream- color lace, the bodice made with round neckline and having long sleeves and the skirt having a deep band of egg- shell-color tulle which touched the floor. In the back a butterfly bow of taffeta marked a moderately high waistline, the loops touching the shoulders and the streamers falling to the floor. Her tulle veil was held by a wreath of orange blossoms and she carried orchids and bride roses from which a shower of lilies of the valley fell. | Mrs. John Douglas Pitch of Aurora Hills, Va., was matron of honor and the bridesmaids were Miss Eleanore Leech and Miss Alice Elizabsth Hersey, both of Washington. Mrs. Fitch had a graceful m of capucian-color chiffon fash- i-;:l'ed on Empire lines, the round neck- line finished with a narrow band of | beading. The gown had a shallow cape and no sleeves and she wore an orange- color straw hat. The bridesmaids were in eocoa-color lace made with three flounces on the skirts and deep scarfs about the neck. Their straw hats were of the same shade trimmed with velvet to match. They all carried orange-color sweetpeas and_ Talisman roses. Mr. Eugene Thore was best man and the ushers were Mr. James Lemon and Mr. Charles Lukens, jr. A reception for 8 small company fol- lowed in the Wellesley room of the na- tional club house of the American As- sociation of University Women when the bride and bridegroom were assisted in receiving by the bride’s father, Dr. Weakley, and the bridegroom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roberts of Cleveland. Mrs. Roberts had a gown of black lace with which she wore a black straw hat and a shoulder bouquet of orchids.
