SOCIETY. THE SUNDAY Christmas Carols Forecast Yule Season Midshipmen, on Eve of Serenade—Noteworthy Society Events Listed in Week's Chronicles. ANNAPOLIS, Md., December 21.— “The Christmas carols were sung in front of Bancroft Hall by the midshipmen, Friday evening and today marked the departure on their Christmas leave of > midshipmen who are not in any 'wmcud. et ball is about the only athletic event going on now and the game Wed- Desday of this week was the last until January. This week's contest was with dafayeite College of Easton, Pa. Miss Bonnie Todd closed her home on Prince George street Sunday and left for Newport, R. I, where she will be the guest of her cousins, Rear Admiral and Mrs. Joel R. P. Pringle. Miss Todd Wwill remain in Newport until the depar- ture of Rear Admiral Pringle, who will be lccom}nmea by Mrs. Pringle, in January, for the Naval Conference in London. After her visit to Mrs. Pringle and Rear Admiral Pringle, Mrs. Todd Wwill visit in New York as the guest of Mrs. Pringle’s sister, Mrs. Charles Book- walter, who, with Capt. Bookwalter and their daughter, Miss Cordelia Book- ‘walter, are making their home there. Mrs. Barton Wright left Annapolis ‘Tuesday of this week for New York. She sailed on an Army transport Wednesday for San Francisco, and from there Mrs. Wright will transfer to a_naval trans- wl‘t and will join her son, Lieut. Comdr. flllam L. Wright, now on sea duty in China. Miss Mollie Milligan gave a small tea at her residence on Maryland avenue as a farewell to Mrs. Wright and Lieut. Comdr. and Mrs. Elliott B. Robison Saturday evening last enter- tained at a large and beautiful dinner dance in honor of the foot ball squads of the Naval Academy. Dinner was served to nearly two hundred guests, including members of the teams and their partners, at the residence of Admiral and Mrs. Robison in the Naval Academy. Mrs. C. Columbus Baldwin of Water- bury returned Sunday to her home at Spring Hill, where she will remain until after the Christmas holidays. Mrs. Baldwin visited in New York and from there went to Louisville, Ky. Friday evening the first of a serles of five large dances was given at St. John's College. The dance took place in the gymnasium and there were many girls from out of town. Also Friday evening the students of Teel School at Severna Park gave a dance for their friends at the Annapolis Roads Club. Capt. and Mrs. Charles C. Soule and their son, Charles Soule, jr., left Friday of this week for Boston, where they will spend Christmas and the holidays with relatives. They will also visit at Hingham, Mass., where they will be the guests of Capt. Soule's sister, Mrs. Wil- liam B. Coffin. Mrs. Sebree, widow of Rear Admiral Sebree, was the guest of Mrs. Soule for a few days the first of the week. Mrs. Morgan Draper, who has also been the guest of Mrs. Soule, and her grandson, Midshipman Draper Kauff- man, will spend the holidays in New York and Washington. Clark-Dugan Wedding Captures Society Interest. Great interest has been taken ‘here during the week in the wedding of Miss Eliza Lane Dugan, daughter of Brig. Gen. and Mrs. Thomas Buchanan Du- gan of Washington, and Lieut. Sherman Rockwell Clark. The bride and bride- groom have many friends in Annapolis. The wedding took place Thursday after- noon of this week at the apartment on Maryland_avenue, Annapolis, of Lieut. Thomas B. She also is a descendant of Gov. Ogle of Maryland and on her mother’s side a descendant of Lewis Morris, one of the signers of the Decla- ration of Independence and a Colonial Governor of New Jersey. Lieut. Clark, who, with his mother, Mrs. E. Rockweli Olark, have been occupying an apart- ment on Maryland avenue, is the son of Mr. James Clark of Baltimore. Lieut.
