OWOSSO, Mich, November 7.— Search was started today by Shiawassee County authorities for Charles Tathouse, 40, county treasurer, who disappeared from his office Monday, apparently driv- ing away in his automobile. A note found on Tathouse’s desk be- side keys, read: “Do. not be alarmed. No shortage of funds. Wil be back.” It was indicated that no audit of Tathouse’s books or any further inves- tigation of the affairs of his office would be started unless he failed to return within a reasonable time. Tathouse is serving his third term as county treasurer. He also is chairman of the Republican county committee. BERLIN SEEKS TOURISTS. l German Capital Is Out to Rival Paris as Resort City. Juan Andreu Almazan, who drove the Escobar rebels out of Northern Mexico last Spring, has been given command of the entire border from the Chihua- ua boundary line to Matamoros, under revision of military commands which became effective November 1. The revision gives Gen. Almazan, who is expected to return from France some time this month, one of the strongest and most strategic commands in Mexico, Besides controlling a vast expanse of | the United States border line, Gen.
