OWOSSO, Mich, November 7.— Search was started today by Shiawassee County authorities for Charles Tathouse, 40, county treasurer, who disappeared from his office Monday, apparently driv- ing away in his automobile. A note found on Tathouse’s desk be- side keys, read: “Do. not be alarmed. No shortage of funds. Wil be back.” It was indicated that no audit of Tathouse’s books or any further inves- tigation of the affairs of his office would be started unless he failed to return within a reasonable time.
