Motor Trips Planned for Remainder of September—Many Academy Notes. ANNAPOLIS, Md., September 14.— Many of the Annapolis social set are returning home as vacation season comes to an end. A few linger on, how- ever, at resorts and others are planning motor trips for September. The superintendent of the Naval Academy and Mrs. Samuel S. Robison left Monday for a 10-day motor trip. Wednesday Mrs. J. S8 Bowdoin, Miss Nott, Mrs. ton Semmes Guest and 'Mrs. Charles Doyen left for a motor trip through New England, to be_gone until the 1st of October. Dr. Edward Darlington Johnson, rec- tor of St. Anne’s Church, and his daughter, Miss Katherine Johnson, have returned from Tarner, Me., where they spent the Summer. Mrs. Johnson is vis- iting reiatives in Newport and will re- turn later in the month, On Monday Mrs. Willlami' J. Giles and her daughter, Miss Louise Giles, re- turned to their home, on Maryland ave- nue, after spending some time at Jamestown, R. 1. ‘The Rev. Dr. and Mrs Charles N. Tyndell of Memphis, Tenn., spent last week with Mrs. Tyndell's sister, Mrs. Robert Burwell, on Hanover street. Mrs. Burwell, recently returned from ‘Winchester, was accompanied by her daughter, Miss Carey Randolph Bur- well, who spent the Summer at a camp near Winchester. Mrs. Fred T. Berry and her two chil- dren, who have been spending some time at Carvel Hall, left last Saturday for Lakehusst, N. J, to join Comdr. Berry. Wedding in Connecticut Interests Annapolis Folk. A wedding of particular interest. to Annapolis took place on Saturday after- noon at 4, o'clock in the Episcopal Church of Bt. Luke, Noroton, Conn., when Miss: Anne Fontaine Maury, daughter of Mr. Charles Walker Maury of New York and Noroton, was married to Lieut. Comdr. Robert Henry Maury, son of Mr. and Mrs. Greenhow Maury of Danville,.Va. The ceremony was followed by s. reception at the country home of the bride's father, in Noroton. The bridegroom is on duty here and has been living at Carvel Hall. Follow- ing a wedding trip the couple will come here, having taken a house on Ship- wright street. Capt. and Mrs. Roscoe Arnett and their two children left this week for Madison County, Va., after a visit to Mrs. Arnett's sister, Mrs. A. G. Collins. They will return to Annapolis before leaving for the West const, where Capt. Arnett has been ordered for duty. Mrs. A. G.
