HONESTY 1S BEST, CURTS DECLARES Vice President Gives Politi- cal Creed-at Dinner Held in His Honor. By the Associated Press. TOPEKA, Kans., July 11.—Vice Pres- | ident Curtis, home on a vacation, ex- plained his political creed at a dinner given in his honor last night by Roy L. Bone. former Kansas bank com- missioner. Sixty life-long friends at- tended. “I began my po- litical career with idea of _being absolutely Honest with the people whose votes I sought,” the Vice President said. “I have always be- lieved and I still believe the people are entitled to know what a pub- lic officiel's views and opinions are at all times on pub- lic questions. I also have always be- lieved that when people asked about something done, they were entitled to know whether or not I believed I could do it “for them. While there have been many people who have disagreed with me at various times, still I cannot help but feel grateful to the thousands of good people who have given me their support and who have trusted me so long.” Among those at the dinner were Senators Arthur Capper and Henry J. Allen and Gov. Clyde M. Reed. CAMP REEDER HAS SPACE | “FOR BOYS, PARENTS TOLD Those Wishing to Send Sons Are| Asked to Communicate With | Charles Curtis Club Secretary. BOUGHT MEDICINE WHEN SHE COULD HARDLY WALK MRS. ELLA LEDBETTER “If any one had told me a few weeks ago that T would be feeling as well today as I do, I wouldn't have belleved them, as I honestly felt as though I was about done for and had reasons to feel that way, as I had been in terrible health for over & year and of late I was hardly able to eat a thing, even a plece of toast caused great stomach pains. My nephew said to me one day, ‘Why don't you try Miller’s Herb Extract?’ (Formerly called Herb Juice.) He spoke so highly of it that I said, ‘Well, T will give it a trial,’ and the day I bought my first three bottles I was hardly able to walk out of the store. I would have attacks of diz- ziness, get deathly sick and my head hurt so I could hardly stand the pain. As I said before, my stomach was in a terrible condition; food would not digest; stomach was swollen from the gas that formed, and so sore that I could not touch it. I was continually taking laxa- tives, in fact, had used them since I was operated on. Of late even strong physics failed to act as they should and I suffered terribly from constipation, ached all over and felt as though my entire system was full of poison. To my surprise the first few doses of Herb Extract had a mild action on the bowels and in just a few days they were moving regularly. PFrom then on I began to improve, seemed as though every bit of the poison was carried away, my stomach no longer bloated from gas, dizzy spells passed away and to my great relief I can now eat food I dared not_touch before I used this medicine. I know that my health is better in every way now than it has been for years and words cannot describe the praise I have for Miller's Herb Extract. I do not know of a medicine that will equal it and cannot praise it too highly.” Mrs. Ledbetter, who gave this state- ment, resides at 1337 Childress St. NE, and is widely known in Wash- ington, having lived here her entire life. If you feel in need of this medi- e:‘ne don’t exw.r:m;m 'mw'uh some- thing supposed as good; go to the Peoples Drug Store, 505 7th St. N.W.; talk to the man who is there for the sole purpose of ex- plaining Miller’s Herb Extract (for- merly called Herb Juice), and learn why it is the choice of hundreds of thousands.
