POST OFFICE CLERKS’ ORFICIAL SUCCUMBS John D. Murphy, Third Vice Presi- dent of National Federation, 89, Dies After Operation. John D. Murphy, third vice president of the National Federation of Post Office Clerks, died in a hospital in Boston, Monday, following an operation, accord- ing to word received here. He was 39 years old. Mr. Murphy, who resided in North Cambridge, Mass, was widely known throughout the postal service. He had been a member of the national executive board of the federation since his’elec- tion as vice president in 1919. During the Summer of 1926 he was a delegate to the international congress of postal clerks fn Paris and spent consid- erable time in a survey and study of postal service and conditions in several of the European countries. ‘The funeral services will be attended by the following officials of the National Federation of Post Office Clerks: Presi- dent Leo E.
