An attractive wedding took place yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Ellery Cory Stowell, in Chevy Chase, when Dor- othy, daughter of Mrs. Stowell and the late George Leverett Stowell, 2d, and Mr. Morris Albion Stewart of Portsmouth, N. H., were married. The ceremony took place on the:lawn in the presence of a small company of relatives and intimate friends. A screen of oak leaves and Dorothy Perkins roses made an attractive background for the wedding party. The Rev. Ulysses G. B. Plerce per- formed the ceremony ‘The bride came out on the lawn with her uncle, Dr. Ellery Cory Stowell, who gave her in marriage. She wore a gown of white satin, trimmed in orange blossoms, with tulle vell, and carrled a shower bouquet of Bride roses and lilies of the valley. The bridesmaids were Miss Katherine Omwake of Washing- ton and Miss Grace Moore of Florida. The ribbon bearers were Isabelle and Anne Stowell and the ring bearer, Ellery Stowell, jr., Mr. George Lev- erett Stowell, 3d, brother of the bride, was best man for Mr. Stewart. Miss Stowell is a graduate of Mount Holy- oke College in the class of 1924 and Mr. Stewart of the University of New Hampshire. After a_motor trip through western New York they will be at home in Ithaca, N. Y., where Mf. Stewart will enter the graduate school of Cornell University. The residence of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Wright, Barcroft, Arlington Coun- ty, Va., was the scene of a very pretty wedding Saturday evening, June 6, when their elder daughter, Miss Eliza- beth Ellen Wright, was united in mar- riage to Lieut. James H. Strother, U.S. M. C. Rev. G. H. Fielding, pas- tor of the Methodist Episcopal Church, Clarendon, Va., officiated. Only the immediate members of the family were in attendance, except a number of officer friends and wives who motored up from Quantico. After a short trip North the bride and bridegroom will be at home at Quantico, Va., where Lieut. Strother 13 now stationed. Mrs. Anthony Wayne Cook, presi- dent general of the Daughters of the American Revolution, was guest of honor at a_dinner given last night on the Willard roof by Mrs. Alfred Bros- seau of Greenwich, Conn., who is stay- ing at the Willard. The bride, who was given in mar- rlage by her father, wore a gown of white crepe embroidered in pearls, made on straight lines with a V neck, without slebves, and with a band of ostrich feathers around the border of the skirt. Her vell was of rose point lace which formed a cap at the head, surrounded by a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a shoWer bou- quet of bride roses and lilles of the valley. Miss Velma Leavell, sister of the bride, acted as malid of honor and wore a bouffant gown of orchid flowered taffeta with ruffies of the same on the skirt and a picture hat to match, from which fell a long scarf of the tulle. She carried a bouquet of orchid sweet peas.
