Morgan was a law clerk in New stage opportunity, although his fam- tly wanted him to stick to the legal profession. Mr. Morgan was born in New York. After attending Trinity School in that city for two years, he pursued his studies further in Europe. Later he returned to New York and attended Columbia University, taking the regu- lar college course. This was followed by a course at the law school. It seemed strange after so much training for another .profession he should have chosen a stage career. When asked why he did so, he an- sewerd: “The Lord only knows.” 8o the question remains an enigma. . Morgan had his first training o stock company in Richmond. but his first great success was attained in “Madame X.” He played Turn to the Right” and for three years appeared in “Lightnin’” with the late Frank Bacon. Other notables with whom he has appeared include Madge Kennedy, Florence Reed, Janet Beecher, Laurette Taylor and John Cumberland.
